Hawthorne Clinic and Research Center in Sarasota, Florida was established by Dr. Nicholas Monsul and Dr. Eva Berkes in 2010, the modern, “green”, 2 story predominantly glass structure is directly across the street from Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the county’s largest hospital. Hawthorne Clinic’s interior is vaulted glass, and as such is open and inviting to patients. True to its interdisciplinary philosophy, Hawthorne Clinic and Research Center is a multi-subspecialty group practice. Currently its specialties include adult and pediatric allergy and asthma, oculofacial plastic surgery, general and cosmetic dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery and an in-house dermatopathology laboratory. There is also a strong research focus at Hawthorne Clinic with the presence of Quorum Biofilm Research Laboratories in the building, which is engaged in the emerging science of biofilm and the human microbiome. This biotechnology start-up was founded by Dr. Monsul and Dr. Berkes in 2010. Science and Medicine together.
